How much power a TV draws
LG publishes an FTC EnergyGuide label for each of these TVs, and the label's yearly figure assumes 5 hours of viewing a day. Multiply the yearly kWh by 1,000, then divide by 365 days and by 5 hours, and you get the average draw in watts while the TV is on:
32-inch HD (LG 32LQ630BPUA): 70 kWh a year, which is 38.4 W while on.
55-inch 4K (LG 55UT7570PUB): 232 kWh a year, which is 127.1 W. LG's product page states 125 W.
65-inch 4K (LG 65UT7570PUB): 295 kWh a year, which is 161.6 W. LG's product page states 160 W.
The 32-inch's yearly total also counts standby (under 0.5 W, per LG) for the other 19 hours of each day, so 38.4 W slightly overstates its draw while you watch. To work out your own TV, do the same sum with the kWh on its EnergyGuide label.
A TV plugs into an AC outlet, so the station's inverter adds its own draw: 10 W on a station under 1,000 Wh, 15 W from 1,000 to 1,499 Wh and 18 W from 1,500 Wh. These are Jackery's calculator figures, applied here to every brand (how we calculate runtime).
Small or 1 kWh class: which fits your TV
Every TV on this page draws less than 300 W, the lowest AC output rating among the models we list (the Anker SOLIX C300 and Jackery Explorer 300). So for these TVs, output is not the limit, and battery capacity decides how long they run.
Small class, 286 to 293.8 Wh: 4.8 to 5.0 hours of the 32-inch TV, 1.7 to 1.8 hours of the 55-inch and 1.4 hours of the 65-inch.
1 kWh class, 1,004.8 to 1,152 Wh: 15 to 18 hours of the 32-inch, 5.8 to 6.6 hours of the 55-inch and 4.7 to 5.3 hours of the 65-inch.
A small station suits a 32-inch TV for an evening or a movie outdoors. For a 55-inch or 65-inch TV through a whole evening, look at the 1 kWh class. The sizing tool adds your other devices, and the price per Wh table sorts every model by price per Wh.
How long each model runs it
One appliance at a time, from the makers' own figures, counting 82% of each battery as usable plus the inverter's own draw (method).
LG's 32-inch draws 38.4 W, so a small station runs it for 4.8 hours (EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus, 286 Wh) to 5.0 hours (Jackery Explorer 300, 293.8 Wh). Four hours of TV plus one phone charge needs 209 Wh, which means a station rated at least 255 Wh, so every small model here covers it.
A 12 V TV skips the inverter. Sylvox rates its 32-inch 12 V RV TV at 32 W. Run from a station's 12 V car socket (all four small models have one), it lasts 7.3 to 7.5 hours, against 4.8 to 5.0 hours for the LG on AC. The RV page covers other 12 V loads.
The small models weigh 7.1 lb (Jackery Explorer 300) to 10.4 lb (EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus). Two are rated at 300 W AC and two at 600 W, and even LG's 55-inch TV with an Xbox Series X (249.1 W together) stays under 300 W.
Worked example: a 55-inch TV evening in an outage
Say the power is out and you want a normal evening. This is the list loaded in the sizing tool on this page:
LG's 55-inch TV for 4 hours.
A Wi-Fi router (eero 6+, 4.5 W per eero) for the same 4 hours.
One lamp with an 8 W LED bulb (GE's figure for its 60 W replacement) for 4 hours.
One full charge of a Samsung Galaxy S25 (15.4 Wh).
The calculator multiplies each item's watts by its hours, adds the inverter's draw for the 4 hours the AC outlets are on, and adds the phone battery. The list needs 614 Wh, so a station rated at least 749 Wh. A small station covers 38% to 39% of it.
Every 1 kWh class model covers it: the BLUETTI Elite 100 mini 1.30 times over, the 1,024 Wh models 1.32 times, the Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 1.38 times and the BLUETTI AC180 1.49 times. With a 65-inch TV instead, the list needs a station rated at least 917 Wh, and the 1 kWh class still covers it (1.07 to 1.22 times).
Plug the TV into the station's own outlets, and never back-feed a house through an outlet. For a fridge and other loads in a longer outage, see the home backup page.
TV and game console together
Microsoft gives the Xbox Series X a global average game power of 122 W (Microsoft's platform baselines). With LG's 55-inch TV, the pair draws 249.1 W. The runtime table counts the console alone, so add the TV when you plan a gaming session.
55-inch TV and Xbox, 3 hours: 777 Wh, a station rated at least 948 Wh. Every 1 kWh class model covers it (1.04 to 1.19 times).
65-inch TV and Xbox, 3 hours: 896 Wh, a station rated at least 1,092 Wh. The BLUETTI Elite 100 mini covers 92%, the 1,024 Wh models 94% and the Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 98%; the BLUETTI AC180 covers it 1.05 times.
Xbox alone: 1.8 hours on a small station, 6.0 to 6.9 hours on the 1 kWh class.
A Nintendo Switch in TV mode draws about 7 W while playing, per Nintendo, so it adds little to the TV's own draw. A small station runs the Switch alone for 14 hours.
Outdoor movie nights
A movie outside or at a tailgate needs a screen, sound and some light. Both setups below include 48 ft of Brightech LED string lights (15 bulbs at 2 W, so 30 W) for 2.5 hours and one charge of a JBL Flip 6 speaker (17.28 Wh):
LG 32-inch TV for a 2.5-hour movie: 213 Wh, a station rated at least 260 Wh. Every small station covers it (1.10 to 1.13 times).
Epson EpiqVision Mini EF21 projector: Epson rates it at 109 W in Normal Mode. With the lights and speaker it needs 390 Wh, a station rated at least 475 Wh. Small stations cover 60% to 62%; the 1 kWh class covers it 2.05 to 2.35 times.
On its own, the projector runs 2.0 hours on a small station, which is shorter than a 2.5-hour movie, and 6.6 to 7.6 hours on the 1 kWh class. If you sit near the station, check the makers' noise ratings: Anker rates the SOLIX C300 at 25 dB from 3.3 ft and the SOLIX C1000 Gen 2 at 20 dB under 200 W. For a weekend away, see the camping page.
