About this site
Power Station Guide sizes portable power stations for the things people want to run, and compares models on the makers' own specifications and today's prices.
Who publishes it
Known by One, LLC, a small US publisher of reference sites and calculators. Write to contact@knownbyone.com with corrections or questions; corrections are fixed and the page's update date changes.
How it is paid for
Some links to Amazon and to brands' own stores are affiliate links. If you buy after following one, the retailer may pay us a commission. You pay the same price. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Links that can pay us are marked as sponsored in the page code.
Commission never decides which models a page recommends or in what order. The sizing maths decides whether a model fits, and among those that fit, pages list the lowest price per watt-hour first unless the text says why another model leads.
The rules every page follows
- We have not bench-tested these stations, and no page says otherwise. Specifications are the makers' published figures, each linked to the maker's page it came from.
- Appliance figures come from the appliance maker, its EnergyGuide label or ENERGY STAR, never from a power station brand's marketing.
- Runtimes use one published formula, explained on how we calculate runtime.
- Prices are fetched from the stores twice a day and always shown with the date they were checked. Prose never quotes a price, because prices change.
- Product photos come only from the retailer the button beside them goes to, under that retailer's licence.
